Following the complete performance in three concerts last year with Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov, Beethoven’s Violin Sonatas are once again in the spotlight: the last three opus in the hands of two outstanding artists and compatriots of the composer: Frank Peter Zimmeramann, an ebullient and polished violinist of eminent stature in the classical world, and Martin Helmchen, a representative of the following generation, winner of the Clara Haskil Competition in 2001 and an internationally renowned artist.
