Established in 2005, they embody the age-old choral tradition that has been the pride of England since the construction of the first cathedrals: that flawless fusion of voices made possible by vocal training from a very early age. VOCES8 – a Latin-sounding name they adopted when they went to a competition in Italy – is part of this new generation of a cappella choirs which, following in the footsteps of the King's Singers, have no qualms about breaking down the barriers between genres and eras. Together with violinist Bomsori Kim, a member of the second series of “Menuhin's Heritage Artists”, they have chosen to immerse themselves in the musical universe of Johann Sebastian Bach, enhancing it with more contemporary accents.
