She filled in for Diano Damrau in a superb manner in a recital featuring Italian opera in 2016. Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva is back this summer at the church in Saanen with some of the most beautiful love arias from operas and motets by Handel, Vivaldi and Porpora. She is accompanied on this impassioned programme by one of the Festival’s most faithful companions, the Basel Chamber Orchestra.
