Brahms again, Brahms forever! In a sense, the reflective, inward style of his chamber music is the incarnation of “anti-pomp” in the 61st edition of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. The German composer is once again in the spotlight in the programme offered by the Belcea Quartet. The ensemble was founded more than 20 years ago when its members were students at the Royal College of Music in London. They are joined by pianist Till Fellner, the 1993 prize winner of the Clara Haskil Competition and one of Alfred Brendel’s few students, for the performance of the monumental Quintet in F Minor.
