Chamber Music

Sunday, 20. July 2025

6 p.m., Church Saanen

Each of Fazıl Say’s concerts is a one-of-a-kind experience, full of surprises. More than just a virtuoso, the exceptional pianist and composer has a unique ability to reveal the deepest secrets hidden within music. A familiar face at the Festival, Fazıl Say knows the Saanenland like an old friend. This summer, as “Artist in Residence”, his stay promises an especially immersive time in and around Gstaad, with three concerts that build in intensity – from solo to duo to quintet. His first performance takes the audience on a remarkable journey through time: from the final sparks of the Baroque era (Scarlatti) to the first flames of Romanticism (Beethoven’s legendary “Appassionata”) with a vibrant detour to perhaps the most “Turkish” of all Mozart sonatas! The programme is crowned by Fazıl Say’s own compositions, infused with his unmistakable signature and a captivating oriental flair.
