Fully assuming the risk of upsetting their audience, the septet blissfully combines traditional music from the Alps with elements of world music. Federspiel's signature is an original kind of music that is rooted in the personal histories of its seven members and that invites us to break down the boundaries between tradition and modernity. A signature which, combined with an irresistible joy of playing, makes the wind ensemble, created a dozen years ago, one of the most interesting and innovative on the European scene.
