By taking an interest in the German sacred repertoire of the 17^th century, Christina Pluhar is returning to the origins and to her own roots. At the heart of this new “celestial” programme combining perfectly the timbres of soprano Céline Scheen and star countertenor Philippe Jaroussky to the rich palette of colours of L'Arpeggiata lies the aria for alto and string ensemble “Ach, dass ich Wassers gnug hätte” by Jean-Christophe Bach, a first cousin of Johann Sebastian's father. This is an opportunity to revisit pages by famous composers such as Heinrich Schütz, but also to listen to much rarer works by Philipp Heinrich Erlebach, Christian Ritter and Franz Tunder, which highlight the important tribute paid by German composers to the great Italian models.
