Some music fans might still remember Julia Fischer participating as a child in the masterclasses initiated by Kurt Pahlen in 1978, playing her first concerts in the Lenk Church. What a journey Julia Fischer has embarked on since these days – today, she is a professor herself. As this year’s Artist in Residence, Julia Fischer is curating a four-part concert series at the Festival. This summer, as the Artist in Residence, she curates a captivating four-part concert series in Gstaad. The journey commences on July 14th in Zweisimmen, as Julia Fischer, alongside Yulianna Avdeeva, delves into a captivating sonata programme. On July 16th, the extraordinary violinist collaborates with the Camerata Salzburg, taking on both the soloist part and the direction for Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major and Strauss's Metamorphosen for 23 solo strings. Continuing on July 18th and 20th, the adventure unfolds further with chamber music highlights, in the company of close friends like violinists Valerie Steenken and Alexander Sitkovetsky, violists Nils Mönkemeyer and Louis Vandory, along with cellists Daniel Müller-Schott, Friedrich Thiele and Benjamin Nyffenegger.
