The presence of Valery Gergiev on the rostrum is always an event. Especially when he is leading his musicians from the Mariinsky of St. Petersburg in masterpieces of Russian orchestral art such as the sequel to Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet". In addition: Prokofiev's Second Piano Concerto performed by one of Menuhin's new Heritage Artists, Alexander Kantorow. The son of violinist and conductor Jean-Jacques Kantorow, the young pianist is a true revelation. He was the first Frenchman to win the prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2019, and the following year he was awarded a Victoire de la musique for his recording of “The Egyptian” by Saint-Saëns, his favourite composer (with Brahms).
