Today's Music

Wednesday, 15 August 2018
7.30 pm, Lauenen Church

The winner of the Swiss Music Prize in 2017, violinist Helena Winkelman comes to Lauenen with her Camerata Variabile from Basel to perform a very original programme together with two invited guests: the world premiere of her composition for Alphorn and string quintet (soloist Balthasar Streiff) – in perfect harmony with the Alpine theme of this year's Festival – and the sublime quintet with two cellos by Schubert (with the assistance of Thomas Grossenbacher). Not to mention an array of arrangements of historic Viennese songs and Austrian dances in accord with the theme of this summer’s chamber music cycle.
