For his beginning in Gstaad this summer, Jaap van Zweden not only assumes artistic direction of the Gstaad Conducting Academy but also of the Gstaad Festival Orchestra at the same time. Recently named the new head of the New York Philharmonic, the star from Holland joins together with Sol Gabetta for Lalo’s magnificent Cello Concerto, a work that they will then take on tour in Germany to Kiel, Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie) and to the prestigious Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
The Gstaad Festival Orchestra is supoorted by Mr Philippe Foriel-Destezet, Hotelierverein Gstaad Saanenland and Gstaad Saanenland Tourism.
