Symphony Concert

Friday, 25 August 2017
7.30 pm, Gstaad Festival Tent

He is one of the finest contemporary conductors, at ease directing symphonies as well as operas. His first appearance at the Menuhin Festival was with the LSO during the summer of 2014. He is back for two concerts this summer with “his” Orchestra dell'Academia della Santa Cecilia Roma, which he has led with brio since 2005. He is joined for the first evening by soprano Diana Damrau (who was also with him in 2014) as well as by violinist Nicola Benedetti, who was one of Lord Menuhin’s last students in Stoke d’Abernon. Perhaps you remember his magnificent recital from July 2010?
